Awesome cd. More regge influenced than his other work.prob b/c album was recorded in Jamacia.
oh, man. this is the best. gets you rockin', puts you in such a happy mood. i love michael franti.
The more you listen to this CD the better it gets. Great "summertime" vibe.
.but it did. Try "Rude Boys Back in Town". Never self-indulgent. The perfect introduction to Michael Franti for those not already on board the gorgeous, soul-stirring, love, social justice, and direct political engagement message music of this amazing community of humans. The sounds incorporate beloved hallmarks of reggae over the decades, as well as solid pop hooks. If open hearts open minds and open minds open hearts, this album is part of the solution. Need a lift. This album is a Must Have. And so on.Never gratuitous.
Try "Say Hey (I Love You), featuring Cherine Anderson. Want to get warmed up to move. Always immaculate, present, and on message. Hands down.Thank you to all involved.A
Franti addresses the causes and thoughts of the common man, and speaks for poor people and refugees everywhere. Michael Franti has been captivatingly cerebral since his stint with the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. Taking their mark from the incredibly strong Yell Fire., this just raises the roof. Nothing I can say about All Rebel Rockers is more important than the music on it. This is energetic enough for the dancehall, and yet it's also peaceful soul music that crosses genre boundaries that really don't exist. There's no filler here. It's a strong, satisfying work of art.
